Both birth charts are compared across eight kootas and scored out of 36 points.

Reading a score
The traditional guide Astro Match uses:
- 0–17 Traditionally not recommended
- 18–24 Average: proceed with care
- 25–32 Good match
- 33–36 Excellent match
Mangal Dosha
Astro Match looks at where Mars sits in each chart. Mars in the 1st, 4th, 7th, 8th or 12th house marks a full or partial Mangal Dosha, and the check flags a pairing where one of you is Manglik and the other is not.
Not into astrology? It’s optional
Birth details are not needed to create a profile, and you choose who can see your astrology details. You can still match on partner preferences such as age, education, location and lifestyle.

Gun Milan, also called Ashtakoota matching, is the traditional Vedic way of comparing two birth charts. It scores eight areas of compatibility, called kootas, for a total of 36 points. Traditionally, below 18 is not recommended, 18 to 24 is average, 25 to 32 is good and 33 or more is excellent. Astro Match also checks for Mangal Dosha.
